Through weekly guided lessons, students learn essential workplace skills including typing, résumé writing, interviewing, career research, and foundational business knowledge. The class blends technology, communication, and professional development to help students build confidence and independence as they prepare for future opportunities.

Students begin by strengthening their typing fluency using structured practice and accuracy drills. They then learn how to create polished, professional résumés that highlight strengths, experiences, and goals. Through mock interviews, role‑play, and feedback sessions, students develop strong communication skills and learn how to present themselves effectively. Students are offered assistance in searching and submitting job applications. Our goal is to prepare students with the skills to join the workforce.

Investing 101 (Thursday 12:10PM-1:00PM)

Investing Foundations is a practical, beginner‑friendly course where students learn how money grows, how investments work, and how to make informed financial decisions. Through guided lessons, real‑world examples, and hands‑on activities, students explore key financial concepts that build confidence for long‑term financial literacy.

Students are introduced to major investment products such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, and retirement accounts. They learn how each product works, why people use them, and how risk and reward shape investment choices. While not specifically an economics course, we will touch on the subject because economics impacts trade.

Throughout the course, students build a strong foundation in financial principles such as diversification, compound interest, long‑term planning, and understanding market behavior. Lessons are designed to be simple, visual, and relatable, helping students connect financial concepts to real‑life goals.

Personal Finance That I Actually Need (Tuesday 11:10AM-12:00PM)

This class is a great alternative math course to prepare students for the real world. Students learn the differences between mortgages and rent, how credit scores are built, how taxes impact income, and how to compare banks vs. credit unions. They also explore interest rates, loans, budgeting, and how to evaluate real financial choices like buying a car, saving for emergencies, or planning for long‑term goals.

Through interactive activities, students practice reading financial documents, comparing loan offers, calculating interest, and making informed decisions using real‑world scenarios. The course emphasizes confidence, independence, and the ability to navigate adult financial responsibilities with clarity and purpose.

image

Future Business Owners (12:10PM-1:00PM)

Students begin by brainstorming business ideas and learning the core steps of entrepreneurship. They then develop a complete business plan, including mission, products or services, target customers, pricing, and financial goals. Throughout the course, students practice marketing and advertising by designing logos, slogans, social media posts, and promotional materials for their company.

To build real‑world readiness, students learn essential business laws, ethical practices, and the responsibilities of running a company. Mock assignments — such as pitching to “investors,” budgeting for supplies, or responding to customer scenarios — help students apply their knowledge in fun, practical ways.

NEW! Herbology 101

Herbology is a hands‑on exploration of the healing power of plants and the science behind natural wellness. Students learn how herbs support the body’s systems and life applications of nature’s pharmacy. This course blends botanical study with holistic health principles, guiding learners through:

Understanding how herbal compounds interact with the body

Preparing teas, tinctures, salves, and infusions

Exploring the connection between plants, nutrition, and emotional well‑being

Practicing sustainable harvesting and ethical sourcing

Each session combines gentle science with creative application — students create lip balms, lotions, soaps, tea, candles, and other projects. Students leave with a deeper appreciation for nature’s wisdom and practical skills to support everyday health naturally.

Coming October 2026!

The Great Works

While we are a Christian learning environment, this course is a standard literature analysis class. The topics covered and presented are to prepare students for higher-level thinking.

In this literature analysis course, Mrs. Eleni guides students to read and analyze four cornerstone works:
Romeo and Juliet (Shakespeare)
The Odyssey (Homer)
Beowulf (Anonymous)
The Republic — The Allegory of the Cave (Plato)

Alongside these texts, students will study influential literary theories that deepen their understanding of narrative and meaning, including Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey, Plato’s Mimesis Theory, and Aristotle’s Catharsis Theory. Poetry will be woven throughout the course to highlight theme, symbolism, and emotional resonance. Students would create a dialectical journal where they write down quotes that stuck out to them, images, and other reflection activities.

Materials list:

1. Individual notebook of your choosing to create the dialectical journal.

2. Pens, pencils, and highlighters in a carrying case of your choosing.

3. A pocket folder for loose pages or a 3-ring binder of your choosing.
